We have been studying poetry on and off for quite some time now. Much of poetry deals with self reflection and self expression. I want you to dig deep into your memory bank and try to recall your earliest memory. Describe what occurred. Discuss (about) how old you were and what was going on at the time. Incorporate sensory language to clue your readers in on what you were feeling, seeing, tasting, touching and hearing at the time.
Your post must be NO LESS than 10 sentences this week! If you choose, you may write it as a poem (no less than 10 lines). It is due Friday 4/12 by 5pm!
My first memory was when I was 3. I woke up and all I see is a giant black spider on my face. Scared to death I was screaming at the top of my lungs. I felt its tiny, furry, prickly legs walking on me. I could feel fear inside of me. I heard my own screams for the whole time. After about a minute of screaming my mom finally came in and flicked it off of me killed it with newspaper to the face.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first memories I have had, was in preschool. It was almost Christmas, and we were all wrapping presents for our families. My teacher called my table up to go find a toy in the toy bins. I picked out a brown monster to give to my brothers. I then grabbed some newspaper, and sat down at a blue table. Melanie Orlando was sitting across from me, and we were trying to figure out how to wrap it. A teacher noticed, and came over to help us. We kind of understood her, and tried it out. I remember thinking to myself that I did such a good job. Though now that I think about it, it wasn’t so good. This is one of the first memories I have had.
ReplyDeleteMy first memory was when I was about 2 my second christmas. I remember being spawed in my crib fall guard up. The next thing I remember was bouncing up and down in my crib some time around 6:00 in the morning with visions of trucks and race cars. Some time a little while later I realized that no one heard me. I sat there for little while and just to my luck my mom came in picked me up and lifted me up. She put me down and I ran in to the t.v. room and she thought I was going to rip open my presents, but that was the last thing on my mind. I ran into their room and laid down right down next to my dad.
ReplyDeleteWhen he woke up I gave him a big hug and ran to the tree and opened my first present. Guess wat it was a truck. My dad was so happy that I cared and still do more about him than presents. This was my first memory.
My first memory was in kindergarten . I was coloring in a colored crayon . My teacher told us to color it yellow . I did ,but colored the rapper rainbow . At first she didn't see it so I colored on . When I finished I gave it to her. She looked at it and yelled at me. I was really sad after that. After that we went to lunch . That's where my friends cheered me up .
ReplyDeleteMy first memory is from when I was still a tiny baby, before I could walk or even talk. It was night time, I was in the recliner with my dad and we were rocking a little and he was holding me. I was slowly falling asleep and he was singing to me. He was singing "Coming Round the Mountain" That was my dad and I's favorite song when I was little. Another favorite was this song about a baby in a cradle and the cradle broke and the baby fell out. But in this memory I couldn't see, my eyes must have been closed. Even without my sight then this is still my most vivid memory. I remember the song and the sound of my dads voice. I remember what I was thinking and the feel of his strong arms around me. I remember when it got to the part of the song when it says, "She'll be driving six white horses when she comes (Hee Haw)
ReplyDeleteShe'll be driving six white horses when she comes (Hee Haw)
She'll be driving six white horses, she'll be driving six white horses,
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes (Hee Haw)" I would always picture 6 beautiful moon colored horses with gorgeous white manes that sparkled every color of the rainbow. I'd picture a beautiful woman with long brown hair wearing a flowing white dress. The dress was longer than she was tall. I pictured them racing around a corner on a mountain trail and the snow was stuck to the ground and the sun sparkling off of each individual flake. This is my first memory.
One of the first memories I have ever had is when I was outside. After my dad told me to go and get one of the dogs toy so he could mow the long and green lawn. I remember I was running to go and get the toy. Then all of a sudden my 90 pound dog Cody comes running from nowhere and tackles me like a linebacker. I could remember is me lying in the grass. Then I see my dad running over and laughing. I was covered in grass. My father had to wipe the grass off of me. From this day my dog only thinks as me as his toy because he plays with me like nobody else but I love him he is one of the sweetest dogs in the world. He gets scared when someone starts to yell and not even at him. He is my Golden Doodle and I LOVE HIM SO MUCHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my first memories was my field trip in preschool. I remember walking into preschool really excited because we were going to walk down to Plum Cove Beach. The teacher came into the room with a super long yellow rope. The rope had a bunch of handles on it, and the teacher said each person had to hold onto a handle while we walked down the street. She said it was so we wouldn't get lost, but I thought that it was reeeaaaaalllllyyyyy stupid! I remember feeling very annoyed, and talking to my friends about how we could OBVIOUSLY walk 30 steps down the street without having to hold onto a dumb rope. We all held on to the silly rope as we walked down the street though, and when we got to the beach I had so much fun that I forgot all about my annoyance with the rope. It was not a very warm day, but I enjoyed myself anyway, and the smell of the salt water was amazing. The shimmering waves crashing against the sand were so mesmerizing, and I barely ever looked away. When we all sat down to eat our lunch, a seagull flew down and stole my lunchbox, so I started chasing after it! I was so mad, and I started screaming and shouting at the seagull. I finally managed to scare the seagull enough that it dropped my lunchbox and flew away. I examined my lunch and was relieved to find that my delicious tuna sandwich and lemonade were still okay. After my friends and I laughed about my encounter with the feathery thief, while we enjoyed our lunches on the beach. I had such a huge day, but I still wasn't tired. I went home and ended my day by annoyed my brothers, and causing more trouble around the house.
ReplyDeletemy first memory is my little brothers first birthday party. I was two years old and I don't really remember the whole thing but more like little bits and pieces of it, almost like a puzzle. One of the parts I remember though was that he hated his cake, he put three fingers in it and started to cry. everyone was laughing and I was really confused because you're not really suposed to laugh when someone else is crying, so i just kinda stood there looking really dazed. I also remember most of my family being there and some of my mom's friends who had kids my age. but it wasn't crowded, because the house that we lived in at the time had a pretty big back yard. That house is actually right down the street from Omaley, no more that a minute away. I have a ton of memories from that house, but this was my first.
ReplyDeleteMy first memory was my fourth birthday party. I had a bouncy house . I got a lot of presents . I liked them all. They easiest moment of my party was when my bouncy house almost tipped over. Thatwas my earliest memory.
ReplyDeleteOne of my first memories was when I was about 8.My Uncle Mitch was really sick with the what we thought was the Flu,but it wasn’t.One day my Mom picked me up from school and she was holding back tears and I asked her “whats wrong?’ and she said “your Uncle is in the hospital”. I got really scared. My Uncle was in the ICU unit in the hospital. The Doctors had him under a mentally induced coma. When he woke up he was FREAKING out saying he couldn’t see! Well it turns out when he was in the mentally induced coma he had a stroke and he got nerve damage behind his eyes and it made him blind. Now he can only see shadows and like a glow. When this happened it was very tradgic and it is something I could never forget.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was about 8 my sister had a baby. She named him Brayden he was only like 4 months. A tragic thing happened. So I was feeding him a bottle and he fell asleep and so She put him in his crib and so then we all went to sleep cause it was night time.
ReplyDeleteThe next day I woke up and my mom, sister, and Brayden wern't there so I called my mom and she said “I am at the hospital” and I said “ why?” she said Brayden stopped breathing” and then I stayed at my grammy’s to see if he was going to be alright. Then, my mom called back and said” Niah, Brayden didn’t make it “so then i started to cry and my grammy said “ He’s in a better place now”
My earliest memory is of me, my mom, my sister, and my grandmother. I was about 2 years old. We always used to bake cookies together and make dinner together. Sadly, she has passed away but I love having this memory of her. We were in her kitchen making food together and I was rolling out some cookie dough with a rolling pin. My sister was 5 or 6.When I looked over at her, she had flour all over her face! We all laughed about it for a while because she looked so funny. My mom was just watching us and taking pictures. My grandmother was always so happy helping us cook. I also remember that my sister and I were too short to reach over the counter so we had to use these wooden stools so we could work! I love having this memory of my family and I.
ReplyDeleteMy earliest memory was when I was about 6 when I was in preschool and we were testing if the was a difference in taste in three different colored apples. I was called over by my other teacher and earlier in the morning I was watching this stupid movie with a rabbit that smashed his head on ever thing so when my teacher called me over I sat down at the table and smashed my head wicked hard on the table. Then she had to talk to me about safety.
