In our conversations with others, we
present our ideas in a logical order. This way, we make sense to our
listeners. Typically, we relate events in the order they occurred, so
our listeners don't become confused as they follow our ideas.
In
writing, the pattern we present our ideas in is called organization.
Writers need to know about organizational patterns because readers
expect what they read to make sense logically.
The most common way to organize writing is called chronological order. Chronological order is the order in which
the events occurred, from first to last. This type of organization is especially effective if you are describing a
process, relaying a series of actions, or telling a story.
This week you must write a paragraph (between 5-10 sentences) in chronological order. You may choose from the following topics:
1. Two people met, fell in love, and got married
2. A young person discovered a particular sport, practiced/played it throughout their life and now plays professionally
3. The weather change from January to July
4. The first day of 7th grade
5. Summarizing the plot of your favorite movie or book.
6. Your morning routine to get ready for school
Your post is due no later than Friday by 5pm.
PROOFREAD BEFORE POSTING!
My morning starts off with me waking up at 4:45 a.m. to pure darkness, and the sound of an alarm going off. I drag myself into the bathroom and start to do my hair. All I can do is sit there wanting to go back to bed. Though as soon as I’m done with my hair I go into the kitchen and make myself breakfast. It is so quiet in my house until you hear the ticking of the toaster oven, making my meal. I then eat my scrumptious breakfast and head back into my room. I pick out all different types of fabrics from my closet until I find the perfect one. I then get dressed and head into my living room. I probably sit there and basically fall asleep for another 30 minutes, until the rest of my family wakes up. When they do, they usually head strait for the shower, except I head for the other bathroom to brush my teeth. After that I lounge around my house waiting to go to school.
ReplyDeleteMy morning starts off the same way everyday. First, I wake up to the radio playing music as my alarm. Following that, I roll over and try to go back to sleep for a few minutes but eventually I have to get up. Next, I walk downstairs and put my delicious toaster breakfast in and wait until the suprising beep warns me to take it out before it burns. After I eat my breakfast I play on my phone, then have to pull myself up the stairs to get dressed. I get dressed, do my hair, and brush my teeth. Afterword, at about 7:10 I am ready and usually decide just to hangout and talk to my family until I have to leave and go to school.
ReplyDeleteMy morning schedule before I go to school is first I get woken up at five thirty by my dad and go into the bathroom to take a shower. After, I get out of the shower I go and put my pajamas back on and sleep for twenty minutes, until it is six o’clock. Next, I get up from my bed and go blow dry my hair until it is completely dry. Then, I plug in the straightener and straighten my hair. Afterward, I do my makeup; brush my teeth, put perfume and my jewelry on. Shortly, after I do my makeup I get dressed and make my lunch for school. Lastly, I get driven to the bus stop and wait for the bus to come.
ReplyDeleteWhen i wake up in the morning to my mom at 6:00 i moodily roll out of bed and make my bed. Then i pick out my clothes and put them on. after that i walk into the bathroom and brush my hair and teeth. Next i walk downstairs and eat my breakfast. lastly i get in my car and drive down to the bus stop to make the bus at 7:10. That`s my morning.
ReplyDeleteI hear the dreaded ringing of my natural enemy, my alarm clock. I soon realize my whimsical slumber has come to an end. I manage to roll out of the cloud I refer to as a bed. As I stagger to my feet I walk to the bathroom as if I was in a foreign land. After changing in to a fresh cloak of clean clothes, I begin to brush my teeth side to side like gentle waves flowing on a beach. I brush out all the knots in my hair. I begin the long wait for my mom and sister to be ready to leave to house.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get home from school I lazily shrug off my backpack onto a wooden chair.I then proceed to march upstairs and walk into my bedroom.I turn to my right and locate my t.v and my playstation 3.I turn both on and put in black ops 2 and start playing.I play it for about an hour and a half, then I turn off my t.v and playstation 3 and march back down the steep, long steps and turn the corner.I go into the living room and comfortably lay my headphones onto my ears.I listen to relaxing music(preferably rap)for two hours, then proceed to go into the dining room and eat dinner.I go back into the living room and watch t.v with my family for a couple of hours.I then head upstairs and go to bed, awaiting the next morning.
ReplyDelete“Buzzzz, Buzzzz,” I wake up every morning to the annoying sound of my alarm at about 6:30 a.m., and think to myself, ‘Uggghhhh! Why do I have to wake up soooo early?!?’ I quickly grab my phone, shut the alarm off, and go back to sleep. When I wake up again at about 7:00a.m., I am startled to realize that I am running late. I jump out of bed, and change out of my pajamas and into my clothes for school. Afterwards, I race down the stairs while brushing my hair. When I get downstairs, I pour myself a delicious bowl of cereal as fast as I can. Next, I sit down to eat my cereal, but eventually I get distracted by my phone. I realize that I have lost track of time, and throw my cereal bowl into the sink. Then, I run upstairs, and brush my teeth. When I finish brushing my teeth, I stumble out the door while putting on my shoes and jacket, and attempt to hold my backpack. I jump in the car and drive to the bus stop, but I soon realize that I have missed the bus, and I need to be driven to school. On the ride to school, I think about how I miss the bus every morning, and I should probably start waking up earlier, but the next day I do exactly the same thing.
ReplyDeleteIn my life, my routine to get ready for school starts off the same way every morning. After a wonderful night of sleeping, my mom wakes me up at 5:30. I then proceed to sort through my clothes and find something to wear. After that, I walk downstairs and look in my cabinet for something to have for breakfast. Once I have figured out this dreadful decision, I eat and then get in the shower. Next, I put on my outfit I had picked out earlier. Then, I put on my makeup and brush my teeth. Afterward, I brush out my hair and straighten it. Depending on the day, I may also braid my hair. Lastly, I wait until it is time for me to walk all the way down to the bus stop.
ReplyDeleteJohn woke up in west gloucester 30 minutes late and was now in a rush to get to o'maley for his day of teaching science. Across town Marry awoke 10 minutes after she was supposed to she rushed through her morning routine, she taught the affect of being late would be a loss of yet another job. John finished breakfast and seemed to fly to the car and down the highway. Marry pulled in to the parking lot at the school. But when she got in to the building the lights went out. She walked over to the science room to ask what to, But she bumped in to the teacher. Apparently It was his first day to.
ReplyDeleteTime seemed to fly they swopped stories till the lights can back on. When they did it was as if time had stopped just for them it was love at first sight. It was as if they were the only two people in the world
They were a perfect match. On the first day of the summer they flew out with all of the students waving good luck. They landed in Figgie and they were wed. Living happy for ever after with there new daughter.
The first actual poem that I wrote was in fourth grade. We had to write one about who we are and what we come from, well me being I think 9 at the time wrote a 19 line poem about when I was little and lived on cherry street. My teacher complemented me on it, and it felt good to put what i was feeling on paper. So following that one day I figure why not start writing poems in my free time. The following year (fifth grade) I found out that poems didn't have to rhyme which was news to me because I always thought that they did. A couple weeks later on summer break I decided to take the dictionary and expand my vocabulary. Ya know just look for definitions that meant something to me. I think I sat there for about an hour and wrote down maybe close to 70 words. Skipping forward a bit to sixth grade maybe about halfway through the year, I entered in this writing contest because one of my family members recommended it. I thought that what I wrote was genius and I was so confident that I was going to win, but I didn't and it kinda crushed me a bit and I hadn't written since then until we did the poetry unit in ELA and it made me realize how much I missed doing it and now I've started up again.
ReplyDeleteThere once a girl named Emma and a boy named James. Emma was walking in the park with her dog and she let go by mistake. James was also at the park and found Emma's dog. James gave a flirting smile to her. After that, Emma and James were hanging out together and got some ice cream. Later that afternoon, after they both got to know each other, James asked Emma out on a date to the movies. Many years later, James bent down on one knee and asked Emma to marry him, Emma said yes! After that, Emma and James grew old together.
ReplyDeleteI wake up at 5:30 and have a cup of coffee most of the time. Then after that I eat breakfast. I brush my teeth after that. Next, I get changed into my clothes. Then once i'm all ready I walk down to the bus stop. The bus comes and I go to school.
ReplyDeleteEvery morning I follow the same routine. When i dont follow the same thing its in the summer and weekends. Firstly, ill get out of my warm comfortable bed, then get in the shower. Ill get dressed tieredly and go upstairs. Ill have a plane bowl of cereal and watch and talk to my mom as she makes my every day peanut butter jelly sandwhich. Next I would gather up all my needs and put them in my back pack. I will then go down stairs and brush my teeth. Lastley I will say bye and that's my boring every morning routine.
ReplyDeleteI started taking Uechi-Ryu Karate when I was only 5 or 6 years old. My house was like a construction area because we were having this big water thing put into the ground in the back yard. Because of this, my parents, brother, and I were staying at this motel over near Shaw's. At the time I was ADDICTED to playing karate. The motel we were staying at was right across the street from a karate school. I remember it was towards the end of our stay at the motel my mom pulled me aside and pointed out the window at the karate school and ask me if I wanted to sign up for REAL karate lessons. My mom took me across the street and signed me up. That was it for me, as I got older I rose through the ranks. Finally, in March of 2011 I reached one major goal. I passed my test for first degree black belt. Now on March 15 I'm testing for SECOND-degree black belt. I've done it for over 7 years and I intend to do it for years to come.
ReplyDeleteI wake up every morning at 6:30 in my bed. Then I slowly walk down stairs to my couch. After that time I make myself breakfast. Next I brush my teeth and fix my hair. After I get a ride to school.
