---- How annoying/boring was that?!
SPICE UP YOUR SENTENCES BY STRETCHING THEM! That is what we will be working on throughout this week. It is time to focus more on our descriptive writing. You will begin to understand how including imagery in your writing allows you to SHOW rather than simply tell.
Your task this week is to choose three of the following sentences
and s t r e t c h t h e m !
1. The dog ran.
2. The weekend was fun.
3. My mom is happy.
4. The boy laughed.
5. I ate fast.
6. She got a lot of candy.
FOR EXAMPLE:
"These chips are good."
Opening the bag, a crinkling sound filled the air as my mouth began to water in anticipation of the sweet barbeque taste of the perfectly crisp potato chips.

2. Going to my aunt’s house and swimming in warm water inside a dome made my weekend very thrilling.
ReplyDelete5. When I was at the dinner table I smelt the homemade alfredo sauce and spooned it onto my plate only to devoured it soon after.
6. When she looked inside her Halloween bag at her house she saw a whole bunch of different kinds of treats that were colorful, chocolatey and fruity.
1) Once I got back from trick or treating Sunday night I looked into my Halloween bag and saw many different pieces of chocolaty, sugary, sweet and sour kinds of candy.
ReplyDelete2) I was walking down the street when a big, fast spotted dog bumped right into me and almost made me fall over!
3) When I got home from school I went straight upstairs and cleaned my room without my mom having to ask me, she was very happy and glad I took it into my own responsibility.
1) There was a blur going across the street, when I saw a big, harry brown and white dog chasing a lanky looking cat into town.

3) When the clumsy little girl slipped on the shiny tiles in the cafeteria, the boy couldn't stop laughing.
6. As she went from house to house, her anticipation grew and grew because of the uncertainty of how much colorful and chocolaty candy she would get.

2. Shopping at various stores at the mall, and playing with my new pet turtle Boney in the living room at home, the weekend was fun.
I ate as fast as I could so that I can play the blue speed video game of awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteThe weekend was the best week of my life I rode down the huge hill as I went I felt the wind hit me like a cloud and that's when it became the best weekend ever.

ReplyDeleteAs I was walking in the park I saw the black and white blur of a glossy dalmatian as it zoomed by chasing a squirrel into the woods.
2)She got a lot of candy.
As I walked past Kim's bedroom I smelled the sweet aroma of chocolate, and sure enough as I looked to the side I saw the pile of candy as tall as Mt. Everest, with Kim sitting next to it, munching away.
3)The boy laughed.
While I was eating lunch I glanced to the side, and was completely caught by surprise when I noticed the boy had fallen out of his chair and was rolling on the floor laughing at his friend's hilarious joke.

ReplyDeleteWhile I was on a walk into the woods with my Maltese puppy, he started wondering off the trail, I gave a quick whistle and he ran for me as fast as lightning.

As I walked in the front door, I can help but hear the laughter of my six year old brother,and sure enough I walked in on him and my dad in the middle of a puppet show

It's November 3rd, my parents anniversary and when my dad walked through the door with a dozen red roses, my mom was thrilled
1. The fuzzy, chocolate brown puppy dog ran fast as lightning when fetching his green squishy toy which he ruturned to his kind and loving owner.
ReplyDelete2. After opening the air filled bag of delisious smelling poatato chips, I ate them ferosiously right down to the crumbly crumbs.
3. After Haloween night, my kind friend opened her green pillowcase to see that she got an absorbanant amount of colorful, delicous candy.
The dog ran tirelessly over the hot smoking sand for hours and hours on end.

This weekend I had boat loads and boat loads of fun I had so much fun I almost died.

ReplyDeleteAs I was walking down the dark and narrow street I saw a golden dog running as fast as a cheetah to me and the dog bulldozes without even jumping.

I wa sitting next to and obnoxius, full of himself boy who was laughing like a dying cat and wouldn't stop laughing if it depened on his life.

I was sitting at the red, white and black checkerboard diner when I could smell the greasy aroma of the tender, juicy steak coming of the grill like a a cake cooking in the oven.

The odd looking boy laughed like a hyena at the at the llama that tripped and fell.

The joyous girl was super happy as she stared at the mound of candy as big as china.

ReplyDeleteAs I sat down I was eating a mouth watering sub filled with mayonnaise, cheese,bhaloini, and the huge tastey bunny,It was a better smelled sub than a pack on roses I was eating in this sub place and I couldn't resist not eating it.

In mid day light this golden colored dog sprinted across the feild with power with such a happy face as I held this delicious smelled bag of doggy bacon bits that it loves like a mom to a kid.
3. There in the blank class room the teacher tripping across the room as the pupils howled with laughter till boom,spat! There the students became scilent but this one dunce boy was laughing like a hieinna and that's all you could hear with students in shock but the boy with the devilish annoying laugh.
